Every year, main media outlets post series of posts titled “best photos of the year”. You may have heard of “The Big Picture” which is well known for its pro-photography design which mostly present photos from different agencies like AP, AFP and Reuters.

In tradition with this, we decided to show you some of the best photos of Israel in 2011, taken by different photographers. It started this week and you can enjoy them daily on our Facebook wall until the end of 2011.

Keep in Touch with Like for Israel

Over the last six months we felt it wasn’t necessary to open a website and decided our base of operations is going to be the Like for Israel Facebook page and the invitation-only Like for Israel Network (list). With the recent hackathon behind us it all changed and now it’s time to tell you where we keep our presence on the web and how you can keep in touch with us.

The Like for Israel Hackathon

Two hours after the end of the Like for Israel Hackathon I’ve worked so hard to create, I feel I took part in a little history that happened. Never before have developers met in order to contribute their skills for Israel like this. It was one of the most beautiful crowd sourcing I’ve attended. The Like for Israel hackathon was a success, or at least, the hackathon part of the hackathon, in a sense that now, that mobile applications have been developed successfully, it’s the time for the PR and advertising part to do the magic.

I can’t talk yet about what applications were developed since some need final touches by the developers and by designers. Other than that, I still need to create the place to show them all and give all the respects to all the apps, which are just awesome!
